INTERVIEW:
MB.COM: What made you decide to become a model and who were your role models growing up? S.B: Its funny that you ask; as a child I always loved being in the camera and would strut around the house attempting to follow the footsteps of my older sister who I looked up to and admired as she progressed through her modeling career.\ MB.COM: What do you think your strength is as a model? Weakness? S.B: I would say my strength is my confidence and drive. Many would look at my height as a weakness especially when it comes to runway modeling but I believe that my weakness is really my strength. Many models such as Twiggy, Kate Moss, and Laetitia Casta among others did not fit the standards of the industry yet have still made it, and so will I. MB.COM: How open are you to clients’ requirements? S.B: I am pretty open minded when it comes to my clients because they are within my market. Q. After reading over your resume I see that you have done videos, print, TV, runway, etc... What type of model do you classify yourself as? I do not restrict myself to one market, I classify myself as all of the above. MB.COM: What sets Sharelle “Lucy” Barton apart from other models? S.B: Growing up I was always told "Don’t do anything you would not want printed on the front page of the newspaper” so I refrain from anything degrading in this industry just to progress myself through my career. Q. Any upcoming events? I have a Mixtape I’m hosting set to come out this summer and I’m currently in the process of organizing my own Charity Foundation. Ok, since you have been selected as the February model, which happens to host Valentines Day, let's have a little fun.... MB.COM: What is the best Valentines Day gift you have ever received? Worst? One of the best gifts I have received would have to be jewelry from Tiffany & Co and Tickets to a Usher Concert. I would not consider any gifts I have received in the past as a bad because it is not about how expensive or nice a gift was but the fact someone took time out of their day to show their affection towards me. MB.COM: Describe your ideal Valentine. S.B: Someone who is passionate, intelligent and has integrity. MB.COM: What is the first quality that you see in a guy that will make you give him that second look? S.B: Hmmm… That would definitely have to be the way he carries himself. I love a guy with confidence and that definitely shows through a guy’s style and personality. MB.COM: So, you have given a guy your number, he made the call, you have agreed to a date. What are the qualities that you are looking for that will determine a second date? S.B: I usually know after the first date if Im still feeling a guy or not so as long as theres Chemistry, common interest, and he wasn’t self centered or demanding its usually a go. MB.COM: Now what are your definite turn offs that will make sure you never answer his calls again? S.B: When a guy blows up my phone and is what we like to call " thirsty". MB.COM: Words of wisdom to future models? S.B: I would say don’t doubt yourself and always chase your dreams until they become reality. Always keep your eye on the prize and don’t let others discourage you. MB.COM: Any shout outs?
